Local Malibu Boys Hit it big with Ryan Murphy & Brad Falchcuk’s “American Horror Story”

Local Malibu boys hit it big by landing a mysterious role of The Twins in the new FX Pilot American Horror Story.  Bodhi and Kai Schulz, identical twins,  have been shooting the pilot for American Horror Story, the newest brainchild by Glee creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk.  The hour long drama is draped in secrecy and kept under a cloud of suspense.  The press release about the show gives us a small hint.   We know is the story is based around the main characters, a married couple, played by Dylan McDermott and Connie Britton, who move from Boston to a new home in San Francisco to work on rebuilding their family after an affair and a miscarriage.  The studio and producers have kept the script under tight security.

Ben Harmon, played by Mc Dermott, is a sensitive therapist and his beautiful wife  is Vivien, played by Britton, is the mother of a rebellious teenage daughter.   Dennis O’Hare,  Tony Award winner,  is no stranger to the horror genre just coming off his role as Russell Edgington on True Blood.   O’Hare plays the former tenant of the Harmon’s new home.  Jessica Lang, Emmy winner for her role in Grey Gardens, rounds out the cast as the nosy neighbor, and parent to a daughter with Down Syndrome.   The FX channel, who partnered with the Glee team on Nip Tuck, ordered the Pilot, with the hopes of something special.  It looks like they are going to deliver something a little twisted, somewhat outrageous, haunted and and always innovative.  Horror fans will not be disappointed.  With Murphy and Falchuck’s great track record with the FX Executives and with twelve Emmy  nominations the network picked up American Horror Story for thirteen episodes!

Bodhi and Kai Schulz spent two weeks shooting the pilot and are excited to be involved in such a unique and intriguing project.  Bodhi and Kai shared, “Working with Ryan Murphy and Alfonso Gomez-Rojon was great because they made the experience fun and it was a great learning curve to work with such professionals who took their work so serious.”  They also noted that the entire production team kept them laughing and the craft services tables were amazing.  Free food all day long for a 12 year old boy is heaven.  The boys have been acting from a young age and have had roles in television, film, commercials and stage with Happy Feet,  Zeke and Luther,  Mc Donalds, Oscar Meyer, and The Malibu Stage Company.  When they have the time Bodhi, the drummer, and Kai,  the guitarist,  get together with the other members of their band and play music gigs or they are in the water with one of their two water polo league teams.   Let’s hope for a successful premiere with thousands of people out there looking to put some wickedness into their viewing pleasure.  And, with my twins playing a new role, I am for sure adding some horror to my fall line up.  Here’s to a creepy summer.
You will also be able to catch the Bodhi and Kai in “Jewtopia“, the movie adaptation of the best selling book and the longest running Off Broadway comedy in history,  in New York and Los Angeles.  “Jewtopia” is shooting around Los Angeles right now and is the story of a gentile who wants to marry a Jewish girl, so he’ll never have to make another decision.  The stage play is written by and stars Bryan Fogel and Sam Wolfson.   The film adaptation includes Jenifer Love Hewitt and Ivan Sergie,  Good luck boys.  You make Malibu proud, and your parents too.
